Registration renewal open till 31 July 2026
Registration renewal for the 2026-27 year is open for veterinary practitioners who have general, specialist or non-practising registration in Victoria.
Vets who intend to renew their registration this year have until 30 June 2026 to renew without incurring late fees, following the instructions below. Late fees are payable for renewal during the period 1 to 31 July 2026.
Board fees for the 2026-27 year are in line with the government's approved annual rate for increasing fees (2.75%). Fees can be viewed at: Vetboard fees. If you are in hardship and wish to discuss your circumstances, please contact us by 15 June 2026.
Alternatives to renewing
- If you do not intend to renew your registration, complete this form to be removed from the vet register effective from 30 June: Registration surrender request: Registration surrender request
- Refer to our registration renewal information:
- if you are retiring
- if you are on parental leave, working overseas or for other reasons not working for a brief period, or
- if you are not sure you need general registration.
- To return to practice from non-practising registration: Re-register in Victoria.
How to renew
For best results use a laptop or desktop computer.
- Sign in to your account: www.vetboard.vic.gov.au/myaccount
- Username: your registration number with a V in front
- Password: use the 'Forgot Password?' link if necessary. If you do not receive a re-set email, check your spam folder. If you have changed your email since last sign-in, please contact us so we can change it on your record.
- Click the button Renew your registration at the top of your account page, then proceed through the following pages, clicking NEXT at the bottom of each screen when completed:
- Confirm account information: contact and practising details must be up to date. You are required to provide the Board with your residential and practice addresses and must update them within 28 days of any change (section 19, Veterinary Practice Act 1997).
- Consent to information collection, use and disclosure.
- Complete renewal declaration: General registrants - answer each statement by selecting the applicable response from the dropdown menu. If a statement is not true in relation to you, select 'False' and provide information explaining your answer in the free text field. Non-practising registrants - complete the declaration consenting to the conditions on your non-practising registration.
- Pay fees: on the payment page, click the 'Pay renewal fees' button then the link to go to your cart and pay.
- Payment confirmation will be sent to the email address on your account record. To download a certificate showing 2026-27 registration, sign out after paying then sign back into your account and click the button Download certificate of registration, at the top of the page.
Need help?
- Troubleshooting sign-in: if your account page does not open, try opening an incognito window in Chrome, paste www.vetboard.vic.gov.au/myaccount into the address bar and sign in.
- Troubleshooting payment: try signing out then signing back into your account page. When signed in again, look for the shopping cart icon at top right - if there is something showing in the cart, click on it and pay from the cart page.
