Registration with the Veterinary Practitioners Registration Board of Victoria.
NATIONAL RECOGNITION OF VETERINARY REGISTRATION (NRVR)
The Primary Industries Legislation Amendment Bill 2008 providing for the introduction of NRVR was given Royal Assent on 30 June 2009. The practical operation of the NRVR provisions will now have effect from the 2011 registration year.
General Information
The registration year is from 1 January to 31 December. Fees for registration are set in November of the preceding year and there are no pro-rata fees.

Please note that the Board does not accept faxed or emailed applications or supporting documentation.
Mutual recognition is for those applicants who are currently registered in another Australian jurisdiction or New Zealand. Specific Registration is for those applicants whose degree is not recognised by the Board but whose application complies with Section 7 of the Veterinary Practice Act 1997. Click here for further information on specific registration and to download an application form.

Non-practising registration applies to retirees, those working in a totally non-veterinary occupation, those on maternity leave or full-time child rearing and those working overseas. Click here for futher information on non-practising registration and an application form.

From 1 December to 31 March registered practitioners can renew their registration on-line. 1 December - midnight 31 December (Australian Eastern Summer Time) renewal fee applies, from 1 January - midnight 31 March (Australian Eastern Summer Time) late renewal fee applies.
